ECKERT, CHARLES RICHARD, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.,
January 20, 1868; attended the public schools, Piersol's Academy at West Bridgewater, Pa., and
Geneva College at Beaver Falls, Pa.; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1894 and commenced
practice in Beaver, Pa., the same year; delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1928;
elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and Seventy-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1935-January 3,
1939); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1938 to the Seventy-sixth Congress; member of board
of directors of Beaver Trust Co.; resumed the practice of law until his death as the result of an
automobile accident in Rochester, Pa., October 26, 1959; interment in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Pa.
