EVANS, LANE ALLEN, a Representative from Illinois; born in Rock Island, Rock Island County, Ill., August 4, 1951; attended Sacred Heart School, Rock Island, Ill.; graduated from Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill., 1969; B.A., Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill., 1974; J.D., Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C., 1977; United States Marine Corps, 1969-1971; lawyer, private practice; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-eighth and to the eleven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1983-January 3, 2007); not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Tenth Congress in 2006; died on November 5, 2014, in East Moline, Ill.
