GRANDY, FREDERICK LAWRENCE, a Representative from Iowa; born in Sioux City, Iowa, June 29, 1948; attended public schools; graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, 1966; graduated from Harvard University, 1970; aide to U.S. Representative Wiley Mayne, 1970-1971; professional actor, 1971-1985; elected as a Republican to the One Hundredth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1987-January 3, 1995); was not a candidate for reelection in 1994, but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination for Governor of Iowa.
