was admitted to the bar and commenced the practice of law;
appointed judge of the court of common pleas in 1841;
elected as a Whig to the Thirtieth Congress (March 4, 1847-March 3, 1849);
died at Cold Spring, Putnam County, N.Y., July 28, 1849;
interment in the Old Cemetery.
